Some people say that photography is a nice innovation. Before, people can only capture experiences through words and that is done through books. They have no television back then. There are no videos and internet. And since photography was introduced, it somehow increased the illustration of human life by capturing an instance of it.

But photography is not as cheap as it is today. As you will notice, almost all people can have digital cameras and capture their own moments. This is in contrast to the times before where only the wealthy may take pictures. It all started when the rich will get themselves painted to be able to preserve their memory. Then it spread to certain sectors of the society being photographed. But since then, people cherish the idea of taking pictures so they always make it a point to look their best whenever it is done.

Since vintage photographs are done with care, some people have taken an interest in collecting them. It is not merely because they capture the moments of the past. It is because it proposes a form of art in itself. Today, with all the colors and effects that new gadgets bring, it is hard to take pictures with care. Back then, the mixture of lightness and darkness always matter for it will always boil down to two colors: black and white.

With this creative nature of vintage photography, there is this trend where photographs are tinted black and white to create an effect. It offers a more creative way of capturing life at its greatest moments.

Women treat lingerie as a staple in their wardrobes. Maybe it is because they use it everyday before they go to sleep. But others simply collect it for the reason of being fashionable.

When it comes to collecting lingerie, vintage lingerie will always come to the picture. Do you remember those vintage slips, girdles, differently shaped underwear, corsets and camisoles? The most authentic designs come only from those old underwears from the twenties to the seventies.

But first, how is vintage lingerie different from modern ones? Well, they have different uses to begin with. Vintage slips and underwear are used inside a dress or skirt to make the body more slender and attractive. Girdles and corsets also function the same way but it targets the stomach area in contrast with vintage slips and underwear which targets the buttocks area. The camisoles are those sleeveless tops put inside the woman’s clothing to diminish the coldness felt by the outside climate.

If you are wondering where you can purchase vintage lingerie, you can find them in your friendly lingerie outlets. Some popular brands like Lucie Ann, Lorraine and Van Raalte have vintage collections. These brands sell vintage slips as well as nightgowns made of satin or silk which are also embroidered and come in different patterns and designs.

But you have to be wary of sizes. The sizes of today are bigger than the past years’. Also, you must consider that sizes may vary from country to country so be sure to cross check sizes before purchasing.

This can also be used for small gifts as bows, gift wrap or a bag. It can also be used as a table napkin, placemat or for covering tables and baskets. Some even use it for covering the lampshade to give it a different color. With all these uses, a lot of people are constantly searching for beautiful vintage hankies in the market.

But where can you find them? This is quite easy. A lot of flea markets are selling these vintage handkerchiefs and they can be very cheap. But it will take some time to look. Second hand shops may also price them at an affordable rate. However, if you want to purchase them from antique shops, then they may be quite pricey.
